Our Mission:
The members of the family of
St. James celebrate a Lutheran witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We worship
and serve in response to God's love.
Upcoming Events:
- Prayer Group Update . . .The St. James prayer group is meeting regularly on the First and Third Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor. More info
- Juice Needed For The Ligonier Valley Food Pantry. . .
Has asked the people of St. James to collect 100% fruit/ vegetable juice (no glass containers) for the May distribution. As of Friday, May 3 we have collected 11 bottles. There is a box in the side church for your donations. Please try to have your donations to the church by Thursday, May 16.
- Support Our Troops!
The Western Pennsylvania Military Family Support Group is collecting items to send to our soldiers who are stationed overseas. Their goal is to send 300 Care Packages to our soldiers in early April. We here at St. James our joining this effort and will be collecting individual serving boxes of cereal, snack size bags of pretzels and chips, and granola and power bars. There will be a table at the back of the church for your donations. This is your big chance to say “Thank You” to our soldiers in Afghanistan!
- The Annual Synod Assembly . . .
Of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod is coming up on June 13 – 15. This year it will be held at the California State University of Pennsylvania. If you might be interested in serving as a voting member from our congregation, please speak to Pastor Paul or a member of the St. James Congregational Council.
Summer Schedule: 8 AM and 10 AM services
Our Summer Worship Schedule . . .
Begins Sunday, June 2 and will continue through Sunday, August 25. The time of
the early service will remain 8:00 am, but the late service moves to 10:00 am during the summer months. Sunday School classes will be in recess until September 8.
