Repairs To The Large Stained Glass Window . . . As announced last Sunday, a series of informational meetings are being held so that church members can review the bids and ask questions. About a dozen members attended the two meetings last week. A final meeting will be held Monday evening, July 26, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, in the church parlor. Please take time to stop by and learn about the details of this important project.
- VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL....
Plans are underway for our 2010 Summer Vacation Bible School. If you are interested in helping this year, please contact K. Poerschke. This year's dates will be August 3, 4 and 5 from 6 to 8 pm. For more information see this week's Parish Notes.
- THE LIGONIER FOOD PANTRY . . .
Has asked the people of St. James to collect cans of tuna for distribution in August. There is a box in the side church for your donations. Please have donations in by August 15. THANK YOU for help us collect 61 bottles of salad dressing.
DONATIONS OF HEALTH KIT SUPPLIES STILL NEEDED...
Support from our congregation has been generous and we are close to accomplishing our goal of 60 kits! The following items are still needed: 28 dark colored hand towels, 16 packaged tooth brushes, 13 sturdy combs, and 7 wrapped bath size bars of soap. Monetary donations are requested to cover the cost of shipment of the kits for distribution. The collection box for Lutheran World Relief is in the side church.-
FAMILY GAME NIGHT...
Will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday August 11. We hope to take advantage of the summer weather and hold family games night in the beautiful churchyard, with games and activities for folks of all ages. Please bring your favorite summer style snack and games, or suggestions for games that will help us have fun outdoors. This will be a great opportunity for fellowship and a time to enjoy God’s beautiful creation. Hope to see you there! - FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERISTY....
Financial Peace University classes to be offered at St James.St. James will be offering Financial Peace University classes again starting July 13th, 2010 and facilitated by K. Smith. FPU is a 13 week program filled with action-packed lessons where you'll learn how to beat debt, build wealth, find bargains, invest for the future, give like never before, and much more!This class has something for everyone - no matter where you are in your financial life. Just imagine what we, the People of God could do for the Kingdom of God if we were all debt free! Come and check it out! More information can be found here!
- IT'S PEACH FESTIVAL TIME AGAIN...
Save the date of Saturday, August 28 for the annual St. James' Peach Festival. Yard Sale items may be placed in one of the basement Sunday School rooms. As always, we will need the support of everyone for this big event. Sign-up lists are now available for you to donate needed supplies and volunteer your time. You can find them at the information desk.
